Conundrum

Is it bad to be a bit happy that my kid is sick?

This has been my question most of this week, as I've been, um, forced to take sick time not to nurse my own wounds, but to hang out with my little girl who has an ear infection.

Could be entirely devoid of happiness pontential, except that she's exceptionally good-natured and has been, generally, extremely happy and chatty all week long.

Which has made the time with her fly.

I found myself boasting that she'd scored her daddy a day off yesterday, a bit of a Father's Day present, and then sat there thinking that I was a sick bastard who needed help.

Anyway, she should be better this next week. Which is wonderful.

And, perhaps, a bit sad...
